The sound of a trumpet seems to cut the air like nothing else. Its musical presence can alert, direct, and even pierce the soul. According to Hebrew traditions, the sound of a Shofar can alert warning, be a call to gather, or announce royalty. Whatever the reason may be, the one hearing the blast is called to stand. . . something we have been talking about the last two weeks. Are you standing yet?
There is presently an awakening happening of great importance. Something that has never been seen before; millions of people gathering to honor a young man who dedicated his life to standing for righteousness. And due to his untimely death, a trumpet of sort has been sounded, causing hundreds of thousands to speak and accept the authority of our Messiah.
At Charlie Kirk’s memorial, we saw an entire government administration in attendance. We heard testimonies and singing of hymns in one accord. We heard words expressing the need for to stand against evil and those words were received in standing ovation.
I believe we are beginning to witness a clear distinction between evil and that which is good. Lines are being drawn through comments and action. The right and the left are rising up and becoming firmer in their resolve. Are we beginning to see the prophecy concerning the red horse in Revelation 6:4? Are we already experiencing an earth that is without peace?
“And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that people would kill one another; and a large sword was given to him.”
There are many who believe the white horse has already been released during the time of the corona virus—a crown that conquered the world. In reading the Revelation story, four horses are released before the 7 angels sound an alarm thru trumpet blasts. Are we moving to this stage? If so, hallelujah. His return is close.
Seven angels will eventually blow their trumpets to bring total destruction on those who worship other gods. One third of the earth will be burned up, a huge mountain will be thrown into the sea, ships will be destroyed, the Wormwood star will bring havoc, and light will be thrown into darkness (Rev. 7).
At the seventh trumpet—the most awesome trumpet of all, YHWH will reign again with His people and set up His Kingdom of righteousness.
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of YHWH and of His Son, Yeshua Messiah; and He will reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give You thanks, YHWH, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm. Revelation 11:15-19
I would like to draw your attention to the Apostle Paul’s letters is the church in Thessalonia. For it is here that he gives a wonderful message of promise.
Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it was also with you; 2 and that we will be rescued from troublesome and evil people; for not all have the faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thess. 3:1-4
The city of Thessalonica was in many ways similar to our current state in America. It was situated on key trade routes and controlled major finance exchanges. And like us, it was predominately pagan in its cultural practices. The Jewish leaders within the city had made alliances with the government in order to practice their rituals. Similar to our own churches who bow before government edicts. Consequently, neither group was overly accepting of the gospel message being spread by “The Way.” Though even in the midst of this struggle, many Jewish and Gentile people accepted the testimony of Yeshua as given by the Disciples.
Why is it important to bring up the city of Thessalonica during the feast of trumpets? Because it is in this city that Paul delivers the hope filled message of a trumpet call to any who is being persecuted due to their faith in Yeshua. And, like those early believers, we too are in need of direction as a pagan world seeks our destruction in areas of family, education, property, ownership, and freedom.
So, what is Paul’s advice to those waiting for Yah’s Kingdom to descend. His straightforward guidelines are found in First Thessalonians chapter 4. In reading this chapter, I believe we will find practical worthwhile advice in preparing ourselves for the great and awful day. To me, it is a similar message that was repeated over and over at Charlie Kirk’s funeral.
- Abstain from sexual immorality and possess your own vessel with honor
- Do not transgress or defraud your brother
- Seek the Holy Spirit in order to love your brother
- Live a quiet life and attend to your own business
- Behave properly to outsiders while showing no need for them.
My friends, the winds of destruction are upon us. Now is not the time to believe that everything will be “normal.” We are to practice our relationships with family and friends. We are to practice living by our commitments. We are to practice dedication to YHWH and our assembly. We are to practice faith in the workings of the Holy Spirit. For when we do these things, the sound of the trumpet call will be a blessing and not a curse to run from, but a blessing to run towards.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore, comfort one another with these words. 1 Thess. 4:16-18
What do you think? All I know, is that I can hardly wait.
Be Blessed,
Rollyn
