D’varim (Words, paleo-Hebrew: accesses the inside of the Exalted Head, the Messiah):
D’varim (Deuteronomy) 1:1 – 3:22
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 1:1–27
Acts 9:1–21; I Timothy 3:1-7
“I don’t know, but Yah has a plan!” When I don’t have answers for people who ask me what our plan is for making it through what’s coming, I find myself simply saying, ‘Yah has a plan.”
Yah's Plan for my wife
Recently I heard a devastating report that my wife’s aorta in her stomach is calcified. The doctor’s plan is for immediate surgery! But Yah has a better plan! We are on our way to opening that artery and restoring blood flow through spiritual and natural means that address my precious wife’s spirit, soul, and body. We have connected with gifted, capable, experienced, and anointed servants of our Elohim, who have the faith and wisdom to bring healing to Leslie – spirit, soul, and body. His plan isn’t just for masking symptoms. We are following Yah’s plan step by step as we see the path of a revived life unfold before us.
We know that Yah has a plan for Leslie to live and not to die and to declare the works of YHWH! (Psalm 118:17) Yeshua is our Savior, and He is still in the healing business!
How do we know His plan for our lives? How can we recognize His leading to restored life step by step?
The acrostic Psalm 119, the section under the Hebrew letter nun, reveals how He leads us on His path. Nun is the letter for the imparting and quickening of reviving life:
Nun.
Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
I have sworn, and I will confirm it, That I will keep Your righteous ordinances. I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, O YHWH, according to Your Word. Psalm 119:105-107
The Word is our life and the way of life! Where does my path take us with the word lighting up the way in my life?
To see the goal of the Torah (Rom 10:4) in the Book of D’varim (Words), let’s start by taking a Paleo-moment with the word – D’varim (Words):
The root word debar is spelled – dalet, bet, resh. Here is the word in both ancient and modern Hebrew fonts:
In paleo-Hebrew, its pictographic meaning is:
‘access (dalet) to the inside (bet) of the exalted Head (resh).’
Let’s begin to understand this fifth book of the Torah with the mindset that the words of the Book of D’varim give us access to the inside of the Head of our Messiah – His thoughts, His plans, and His purposes for His people. Yeshua is the goal of D’varim (Rom 10:4). He is the Word, Who became flesh and Who dwells among us (John 1:1,14).
Being a prophetic book for our day, let’s talk about what our Messiah plans to do to prepare His people for entering the Promised Land in the last days. What’s on His mind these days? Let’s find out together as we dig into this fascinating book!
Haven’t you heard enough about what the anti-christ and the powers of darkness are up to in this world? What about hearing what our Messiah is doing now and is planning on doing in our day? What’s His goal to accomplish in ‘the times of the restoration of all things (Acts 3:21) as we prepare for the Messiah’s second coming?
His Goal, Heart and Soul
We don’t have to stay in the wilderness of the peoples; we can move out by His leading, obeying His Word, making it out of here all the way to the Promised Land. We can learn from the mistakes of our forefathers, do teshuvah (repentance) and not end up perishing with hearts of unbelief in Kadesh-Barnea. The name of this camp, where many Israelites of the first generation died, means – a set-apart camp in the burning desert.
For us to not die in a place like that but rather enjoy a destiny in a land of milk and honey, we need the wholehearted spirit of Kalev (Caleb) and the courage of Yehoshua (Joshua) to follow our Commander Yeshua. His Name means Yah, Who saves us. Our King Yeshua saves and delivers us from our enemies in our day, for this is, now the day of Salvation.
For He says, “In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you.” Isaiah 49:8
Behold, now is the acceptable time! Behold, now is the day of salvation! 2 Cor 6:2
Believing in our Savior, we will have to ‘fight the good fight of faith (faith6:12) to reach His goal for we His people. Yeshua is our Commander-in-Chief. He is the Good Shepherd Who has proven over and over again that He keeps His promises, defeats our enemies, and will bring His people victoriously into the Promised Land.
Yes, He promised that He would assuredly plant us in the land wherein we will grow and prosper. It is up to us to believe His Word. I love this promise by our Father:
“Yes, I will delight in doing good for them, and with all My heart and all My soul, I will in Truth plant them in this land.” Jeremiah 32:41
Wow! The one place in all of the Scriptures where He gave His Word on what He would do “with all My heart and all My soul” is that He will bring His people home to the good land promised to our forefathers. His heart and soul are totally into His awesome plan for our destiny to be forever with the Messiah in the Promised Land!
One of the most popular and encouraging Scriptures quoted today is also in the context of His plans for a prosperous future, that is, in the land.
“…For I know the plans that I have in mind for you,” declares YHWH, “plans for shalom and not calamity—to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call on Me, and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek Me and find Me when you will search for Me with all your heart.
Then I will be found by you,” says YHWH, “and I will return you from exile, and gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,” says YHWH, “and I will bring you back to the place from which I removed you as captives into exile.” Jeremiah 29:11-14
The return of the exiles to the Promised Land are those heart-and-soul plans He has in mind for us! Whether we like the thought of the journey or not, that’s the Father’s best that He has in all His heart and all His mind for His children’s future. Abba knows best, so let’s trust Him and His Word all the way to the end!
Your Goal, Heart, and Soul
In the meantime, our part is to love Him, obey His commandments, seek Him and believe His promises for us – ‘with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.’ D’varim 6:5
No matter what we face, Love is the Way to victory!
But in all these things, we more than conquer through Him loving us. Romans 8:37
You can do it; you can make it! Just say out loud believing – “I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
“And remember! I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20
Count on it! He will never leave us nor forsake us every step of the way.
“And YHWH is He who is going before you; He Himself shall be with you; He shall not fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be afraid.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Paul encouraged us in this way when we face opposition:
What then shall we say unto these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He Who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us, all did deliver Him up, how shall He not also with Him the all things grant to us?
Romans 8:31-32
His Word reveals His victorious and glorious plan for us, so praise the Word!
In God, I praise the Word; in YHWH, I praise the Word. In God, I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 56:10 -11
May the spirit of Elijah turn our hearts to our forefathers. May we hear the words of D’varim to know the thoughts of our Elohim towards us. May we grow in faith and trust in our Mighty God to love us through it all with all His heart and soul. May we learn our forefathers’ lessons before we cross into the Promised Land.
Therefore, since we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also get rid of every weight and entangling sin. Let us run with endurance the race set before us, focusing on Yeshua, the Initiator and Perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame; and He has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of Elohim. Hebrews 12:1-2
‘The joy set before Him’ is ultimately that His people return to blissful, covenant relationship with Him and to return to the Beulah land, the Married land. His people will be together with our Messiah as one, forever and ever, ley’olam vayed!
May Abba continue to give you access to the heart and mind of our Messiah in His Torah for His people today. May your faith grow in Him and be encouraged as we explore D’varim, His Words, together. Be sharing His Word with your mishpochah. Let’s build each other up in the most holy faith. Get ready – the King is coming!
Blessings in the Name of Yeshua,
David Klug
