Meet John and Donna Eicher!
What are the names and current ages of your children?
We have 4 children. Wes 52, Gwen 50, Jonathan 46, Jenni 44
How did you find MVF?
John injured his back running in college and has dealt with back issues most of his life. Deep massage therapy has been one of several things that has helped him maintain mobility. In 2016 after moving back to Salem, John started going to Angie for massage therapy. He became aware of MVF through Angie, and later met Rollyn, and they began attending.
What do you want to find or learn at MVF?
Even though both grew up in Christian homes, they have appreciated seeing references to Yeshua throughout the entire Old Testament, not just in the writings of the prophets.
What do you do in your spare time?
They live at Capital Manor (retirement home) in West Salem. They co-chair the Marketing Committee which is made up of residents that host future residents, greet new residents and assist the marketing department.
Donna works with a group of residents that prepare table decorations based on the season of the year. Donna is also involved in a Bible study
John is on the Liaison Committee which works with issues that are brought to them by the various resident committees, making recommendations to the Executive Administrator and Board of Directors. John spends time listening to Bible studies and teachings, as well as studying the Aleph Tav Scriptures. In the last few years, John began playing trumpet after many years of letting it sit in the case. He’s performed three times at Capital Manor and is beginning to work on a 4th performance.
Both utilize the fitness facilities, either individually or in one of the many group fitness programs. Both spend time visiting some of the residents that are in Assisted Living.
Where do you work?
Both are retired. For careers, Donna taught 1st and 2nd grades. John worked in every aspect of Human Resources, focusing the last 11 years managing the data analysis, back-end operations and data system aspects of the Human Resources department.
What are your hopes and aspirations?
They both want to continue the life-long process of letting Yeshua be their LORD, letting His light shine through them in their community and to their children and grandchildren.
