Before I write or speak about a particular topic from our Bible Portions, I reflect on situations that affected me during the week. From there, I like to ask, “what picture examples” are there in Scripture that I can relate to.
In the Portions for this week, we see Moses recounting historical moments in Israel’s journey. In the book of Isaiah, words express Israel’s rebellious heart. In the book of Acts, we read about a conversion and in Timothy there are descriptions of what it means to serve the body of Messiah.
So here is a thought. Rather than “digging deep” into some personal theological opinion, would it be possible for you to reflect on the portrait being written about? What do you see? Can you paint, draw, or describe that picture?
